Thanksgiving...patience and laughs

So the day started out stressful as always. I had to get 2 cheesecakes made, make a quiche for breakfast and then try and get some boxes unpacked. All with 2 kids running around. Now that might not sound hard but Cassidy (the 5 year old) kept asking every 5 minutes if we were ready to go (we were going over to our friends house for thanksgiving and she is best friends with their 6 year old) and Emily was well being Emily. Whining and getting into everything! So yeah it was interesting to say the least.
But it all got done! Emily got a nap and we got out the door all in one piece!

We had a great time with our friends and the food and kids all behaved! We all even laughed when (after being to quite) the girls all came in and had marker all over their faces! It was washable (Another thing to be thankful for) and they all looked so cute anyway.

So now I am at work and not working (at this moment anyway). Waiting for Sunday when I can start to decorate my NEW HOUSE for christmas! I cannot tell you how happy I am that I can do that. All the boxes are out and in the hallway (and hubby is itching to put them in the attic). So me and the girls will have fun (wish me luck and PATIENCE!)

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Unpacking, Sleeping and Cooking

Well we are slowly making progress on all the boxes! I can't tell you how many times we have opened a box and said "Why in the world did we pack this"??!!
Greg got his speakers wired into the walls yesterday (and man was he happy!) and his Plasma up on the wall (looks really nice!) Today someone is putting up more shelves for us to put all our DVD's on! That will mean more boxes unpacked!!

OK Emily has never been a great sleeper. She is 20 months and has never gone more than 7 days straight sleeping through the night. So FINALLY mommy got sick of it and it's been "tough love" this week. We let her cry and get herself back to sleep. It kills me to hear either of my kids cry but it was really hard to keep getting up with her and sleeping on the couch or with her in our bed. She is a tosser and kicker! SO she is doing really well with it (only cries for a couple min.) and then goes to sleep.

I cooked Meatloaf last night (Devin Alexanders Muscle Packed Meatloaf) and it was GOOD! Very moist and had great flavor with the jalapeno peppers. I also made her Svelte Scalloped Potatoes and those are so good too! All in all it was a great meal. Now preparing it was chaos with the girls around but that is to be expected. I also made Plato for Cassidy's preschool so I was in the kitchen for about 1 hour total and that is a long time for me and the kids.

Tomorrow I work and then go to Cassidy's school for her Thanksgiving play!! I can't wait! I told Greg to have the video ready to go!
Then I need to make 2 cheesecakes (Key Lime and Pumpkin)!

I am so thankful for my family, health, job, friends and our new house! We are so blessed.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Mixing up the Menu

Well I did not get the Quiche made on Sunday. We have been so busy with the house and unpacking all the boxes! I made BLT's last night instead. Yummy! So tonight I am going to make the meatloaf and potatoes. I will post pictures and a review tomorrow!

Oh and I finally figured out how to add a signature! It only took me all morning. :)

New Home, New Start!

Well we have finally moved! YEAH! We have to much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving...

We sold our house and my in-laws house and all got one big house together with a MIL area in it.

Photobucket

They have their own bedroom (2), kitchen, family room with fireplace, bathroom and laudry plus a seperate entrance and a garage.

We have a family room with fireplace, dining room, kitchen, living toom, 3 bedroom ,2 bathrooms and a laundry room plus a 3 car carport.

I think we all have enough space!

So now that I am in my home (I hating renting!) I need to get organized!

So...

I want to start menu planning (I did this once or twice and it's so helpful).
Declutter the house
Try and keep on a schedule of cleaning so nothing ever "piles" up!

Wish me Luck!!
